LaTonya Blige: It’s (Still) Coming

LaTonyaBlige235x275We’re chatting it up with rising gospel singer — and older sister of Mary J. — LaTonya Blige about her forthcoming album and the new things she sees happening in Christian music.

Well, it’s been nearly two years since gospel songstress LaTonya Blige announced she was releasing her new album, This Is How I Feel, featuring the duet “It’s Coming” with her younger sister Mary J. Blige. And while it’s unclear what’s causing the delay for the album, fans of the singer are hoping to hear the new material soon.

UrbanFaith caught up with LaTonya Blige backstage at Gospel Uptown in Harlem for a recent celebration honoring gospel greats like Shirley Caesar and Fred Hammond. Watch our interview below and check out what she had to say about her musical influences, trends in gospel music, and the need for venues where inspirational music and artists can take center stage.
