Hawaii, Florida, and California are among the popular vacation spots in America. In making getaway plans, we often envision rest, beautiful sights, privacy, serenity, restaurants, and recreation—things that give us leisure and rejuvenation. In the Bible, God tells us about the place He’s planning for His people; not a temporary getaway, but a city where peace and harmony abounds, where violence, sorrow, and sickness are gone, and where everyone worships and obeys God. In Isaiah Chapter 65, the prophet quotes God as promising His people, “Look, I am creating new heavens and a new earth, and no one will even think about the old ones anymore. Be glad; rejoice forever in my creation! And look! I will create Jerusalem as a place of happiness. Her people will be a source of joy. I will rejoice over Jerusalem and delight in my people. The sound of weeping and crying will be heard in it no more. The wolf and the lamb will feed together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. In those days, no one will be hurt or destroyed on my holy mountain. I, the LORD, have spoken.” God is preparing a wonderful future for His people—a New Jerusalem for all who accept His Son as their Savior. But to get in, we have to have reservations. No one gets in without prior reservations! We get them by accepting God’s Son as our Savior now.

  1. In the future, please include the Adult lesson with the VBS kit. We will pay extra or at least offer a kit with it included. Our church had to go to a VBS curriculum offered by the other folk because it was a complete purchase with everything in it. Think it through next year and do better.
