For years, some critics of the Bible have questioned whether Adam and Eve were real people. Since I’m not a scientist, I cannot speak as a scientist. But I do accept by faith that the Bible is God’s revelation, to give us truth we could never know without it. The Bible teaches that Adam and Eve were the first humans. Jesus Christ referred to them as real people. Since Christ is God in the flesh and existed before creation, we can take His word about creation as absolute truth. So when Paul, whom Jesus appointed to be His apostle, compares Christ to Adam, the first human, we can accept Paul’s words as true. Speaking by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote in Romans Chapter 5, “Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins; for the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.” Unless Adam was a real person, Paul’s argument falls apart. Yet, since Christ our Savior and Paul His apostle believed Adam was a real person, we can believe it too.

  1. You’d be gratified to know that those scientists who have been working on the HUMAN GENOME PROJECT having been mapping human DNA combinations. They have traced all
Y-DNA (paternal lines) and Mitochondrial DNA (maternal lines) back to just two people, male and female. They have nicknamed these two progenitors “Adam” and “Eve.” All humans are connected to other humans and YAHWEH created the DNA molecule not only to transmit inheritance, but to “tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.” The marvelous building Blocks of heredity–genes and chromosomes–have been mapped and traced to form what is called the human genome tree. We all descend from various clusters of DNA (called
halplogroups) which are “branches” on this tree. If you get your ancestry tested through the various genetic labs and services (such as DNA Tribes, African Ancestry, FamilyTree DNA,
23 and Me, etc.), you can find out the multiple ethnic groups that comprise your inheritance.
The autosomal tests which display your 46 chromosomes inherited from your Y-DNA and Mitochondrial DNA are the ultimate “truth tellers” used in forensics and criminalistics work.
God’s word declares we are “fearfully and wonderfully made”, and He saw fit to start humanity
with two parents who were created in His image. And just think, modern genetic science “got the revelation” some 10,000 years later to attribute our heredity to “Adam and Eve.” “God is great
and greatly to be praised,” the Psalmist reminds us–and we give Him thanks for our DNA molecules and His wonderful mechanism that transmits human inheritance!
